Emergency Radios - Disaster Preparedness Nutrition Survival Food Dehydrated Meal MRE Pack Supplies Kit

Emergency Radios for Natural Disasters and other Emergencies

Please take a few minutes and visit this link. You really need to do a little bit of research on the internet to find just the right kind of emergency radio for you and your family. This is one item you do NOT want to be without during a disaster, emergency, crisis, or national or regional emergency.

Corey Deitz shares the scoop on 7 different emergency radios, some of which are hand cranked.

I personally believe that every family should have some kind of emergency radio set aside for times of emergency, crisis, and disaster. I would recommend buying one that can be hand cranked that doesn't rely on batteries or electricity. It's better if you can find one that has several other functions on it such as a flashlight, solar panel, etc.

Check out this informative article on Emergency Radios by Corey Deitz.

Long Power Outages - Emergency Disaster Preparedness Nutrition Survival Food Dehydrated Meal MRE Pack Supplies Kit

ARE YOU PREPARED FOR LONG POWER OUTAGES?

Every year people have to deal with power outages as a result of snow storms, tornados, hurricanes, blizzards, ice storms, earthquakes, etc.

If the power is out for only a few hours or part of a day, it's not a very big deal.

However, it is a big deal if it goes out for more than a day during extreme weather conditions such as cold or heat. If you have a lot of food stored away in your freezer, power outages can also cause you to lose your frozen food.

Are you prepared to live for 3 days or 7 days without power?

If not, you should consider getting a gasoline or kerosene generator that you can use to provide electricity to your house. Another option is to have propane gas on hand and have gas appliances. A third option is to at least have a wood stove stored away, along with some firewood to use to heat your home in the case of a major power outage.

These are just a few options for you to consider. It is something that you need to think about beforehand, so I encourage you to do some research now and make provision for this very probable emergency situation.

NOW is the time: the secret to surviving disasters is BEING PREPARED beforehand! Not next week, not next month, not next year, not when you have time, not when you think something bad is going to happen - but NOW.

Keep checking back with my postings as I will be providing you with a lot of more useful information and resources to help you get prepared now for the inevitable disasters on the horizon. You do NOT need to live in fear and anxiety - IF you are prepared.

Avoid Liquid Juices - Emergency Disaster Preparedness Survival Food Dehydrated Meals MRE Pack Supplies Kit Bird Flu

Today I'd like to follow up my previous posting about with some additional information. I'm going to be comparing 's Beyond Berries supreme fruit and berry blend with some of its competitors on the market today.

MORE PROBLEMS with LIQUID SUPER JUICES

1. INGREDIENT QUALITY - Liquid berry products typically contain ingredients from a "juice concentrate" or "puree concentrate." Both are created through the use of head and/or vacuum. This denatures and compromises the nutritional integrity of the fruit or berry. In addition, these products may contain as little as 10% of the actual ingredient that the product is being marketed for.

2. EXPENSE - Liquid products are more expensive, particularly when you compare the nutrient content and serving size to Uri's Beyond Berries and the Feast products.

For example, one jar of Beyond Berries powder makes 180 ounces of reconstituted liquid juice, which equals 4-5 jars of any of our competitor's liquid products. The recommended daily serving for Beyond Berries powder is 10 grams mixed in 6 ounces of water. At this serving size, a jar of Beyond Berries powder lasts 30 days and is truly a month's supply.

Most liquid juice products suggest only 1 ounce of their product per day to create a 30-day supply. Did you catch that? Their serving size is ONLY ONE OUNCE!

According to information on the internet, here's how the other super juice products compare.

Monavie, MangoXan, Thai-Go, & Xango only have 24-25 ounces per bottle, all with a suggested serving size of only 1 ounce, providing 24-25 one-ounce servings per bottle.

Berry Young, Himalayan Goji, and Tahitian Noni only have 32-33 ounces per bottle, all with a suggested serving size of only 1 ounce, providing 33 one-ounce servings per bottle.
Now, compare the above numbers with Beyond Berries, which provides 180 ounces of super juice per bottle (300 grams of powder), with a suggested serving size of 6 ounces, providing 30 six-ounce servings per bottle.

In other words, Beyond Berries supplies SIX to SEVEN TIMES as much juice as its competitors per serving size and per bottle!

Beyond Berries is not only nutritionally superior and more cost effective ounce per ounce, but it supplies an adequate amount of each ingredient and recommends an appropriate suggested serving size to allow you to experience supreme health benefits.

3. PASTEURIZATION - Did you know that 98% of the liquid nutritional juice products on the market today are pasteurized? The pasteurization process uses high heat to kill bacteria and harmful microorganisms that create food-borne illness. While pasteurization appears to be a good thing, in reality it is not. The pasteurization heating process not only kills the bad bacteria, but it substantially alters or deactivates the majority of good, naturally occurring live nutrients that we consume the fruit or berry for in the first place!

Don't be fooled by terms such as "flash pasteurization." Pasteurization is just that - a process that always requires heat at a temperature higher than what the majority of live nutrients and enzymes can withstand. Many companies try to smooth over the pasteurization process by saying that their product has been "fermented," but in the end, after the fermentation process, pasteurization still must occur.

4. PRESERVATIVES - Many liquid super juice products contain preservatives such as sodium benzoate and/or potassium sorbate. Without such preservatives, these liquid juices could grow bacteria, naturaly decompose, and become rancid. While it is true that preservatives help prolong the shelf life of a liquid product, they are also known to cause a myriad of "mysterious" health problems. The FDA considers these preservatives "safe" in small amounts, yet anything more than a "small amount" is considered "unsafe and unhealthy." Because the majority of the processed foods we eat contain these same preservatives, it is not "safe" to say that we are getting "small amounts" when you take into consideration the fact that we are consuming these same preservatives on a daily basis throughout our entire lives.

Another commonly used preservative is Ascorbic Acid. Many companies use ascorbic acid in their liquid juice supplement to artificially and inexpensively increase ORAC values and vitamin C label claims, to preserve the product, and to try and compensate for the loss of nutrients due to pasteurization. This is known as "overdosing." You need to know that ascorbic acid is a synthetic, man-made version of vitamin C, and it is a poor substitute for vitamin C from natural whole food sources.

The addition of artificial preservatives and/or synthetic nutrients defeats the purpose of consuming an "all natural health product" in the first place. Our modern diet is already filled with depleted, over-processed foods. URI International believes that a natural food product should be just that - natural. Beyond Berries and the Feast both contain all natural, non-pasteurized berry and fruit powders from the whole food, without any preservatives or synthetic additives.

As you can see, Uri International's Beyond Berries (and the Feast) are far superior in every way when you compare them with the following pasteurized, preservative laden, more expensive, and inferior quality products made by: Vemma, Monavie, Xango, MangoXan, Thai-Go, Berry Young, Himalayan Goji, Tahitian Noni, as well as many other inferior super juice liquid products out there today. The best and only way to go today is with the live whole food based InstaFresh dry juice powders made by Uri such as Beyond Berries, the Feast, BarleyPure, etc.

I hope that the above information will enlighten you and help you make the wisest and healthiest choice when it comes to buying and consuming a super juice product for everyday use, as well as for storing up for that inevitable emergency or disaster when you will need the best nutrition you can get in a dry powdered form. All you need to do is to mix it with water. If you had to, you could eat it as it is. And the good news is - it tastes great!

How to Choose Survival Food - Emergency Disaster Preparedness Dehydrated Meals MRE Packs Supplies Kits

WHAT KIND OF SURVIVAL FOOD SHOULD YOU STORE UP ON FOR DISASTERS?

This is a very important question that you need to answer. Is it enough to store up canned foods, bottle juices, and dry foods to prepare for the coming disasters?

To answer this question you would need to know something about good nutrition. I've studied nutrition and health for over 25 years, so I'd like to share with you some of the things I've learned that can help you make sure you're storing up the right kind of nutrient dense food and nutrition for a disaster or emergency.

Canned food is NOT nutritious or healthy for your body. It is loaded with sugars, salt, high fructose corn syrup, unhealthy preservatives, and "dead food." Canned food is NOT a good source of nutrition for you during a disaster or at any other time. Canned food is DEAD food and will leave you malnourished. It has been cooked or heated to a very high temperature during the pasteurization process, which means that any good nutrients have been killed by the heat.

What you need to eat during a disaster is live whole foods. You'll need to have access to grains, seeds, nuts, fruits, berries, greens, vegetables, etc. However, you need to plan as if you will not have any access to live fresh fruits and vegetables from your own garden or from a supermarket. Nevertheless, your body still needs them, so where can you get them in a dehydrated form that has a long shelf-life so that you can store them up for an emergency or disaster?

Your BEST CHOICE is to store up on low-temperature dehydrated powdered super juices that are made with live whole food based nutrition from fresh fruits, berries, greens, vegetables, seeds, nuts, and sprouts - all with no pasteurization, no preservatives, or no synthetic isolated vitamins or inorganic minerals. In this posting I would like to teach you HOW TO CHOOSE A SUPER JUICE nutritional product from the marketplace.

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU CHOOSE A SUPER JUICE NUTRITIONAL PRODUCT FROM AMONG SO MANY IN THE MARKETPLACE?

There are sooooooo many products and companies out there now selling healthy nutritional products, supplements, and . I'm sure you've heard of many of them such as Xango, Himalayan Goji, MonaVie, Noni-Juice, Juice Plus, Mango-Xan, Thai-Go, etc.

My friend, if you're trying to decide which product is best for you, I'd like to share with you some insight that could help you make the wisest decision.

SEVEN THINGS YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHEN CHOOSING A SUPER JUICE PRODUCT

The biggest nutritional problems I've found with most of these products and companies include the following 7 issues:

1. Most of them are selling a liquid "super juice" that has been pasteurized and treated with preservatives to keep the product from becoming moldy on the shelf. By law, the FDA requires all liquid "juice" products to be pasteurized, which means that the fruit and/or berry juice has been processed by heating it to high temperatures to kill all bacteria. The process of pasteurization not only kills all of the bad bacteria, but it also kills most of the good bacteria and good nutritional compounds found in the juice. The original raw fruit and/or berry (such as mangosteen, wolfberry-goji, noni fruit, acai berry, etc.)certainly has a lot of powerful nutritive compounds in it, including antioxidants, vitamins, phytonutrients, etc. However, after undergoing the intense heating involved in pasteurization, the value of those fruits and/or berries have been greatly diminished and destroyed.

Now, let me ask you a question. Do you really want to be drinking a liquid super juice product that has been pasteurized with high heat, that has lost most of its nutritional value, and that has added chemical preservatives? I DON't.

2. Most liquid "super juices" sell you their product in a flashy heavy glass bottle that makes it look very appealing, but is very expensive to ship. However, the down side of this is that if you become a distributor for that product, you will end up having to pay a considerable amount on shipping and handling fees because, as everyone knows, glass is very heavy and expensive to ship. Can you imagine ordering a whole case and the exhorbinant cost of shipping? Even if the company doesn't use glass bottles, and instead uses plastic bottles, every one knows that shipping a heavy liquid product is much more expensive than shipping a light powdered product. Question: Do you really want to be buying and shipping heavy liquid products all over the country? Someone's going to be paying for that expensive shipping - either you or your poor customers.

3. Most liquid "super juices" are centered around one dominant super fruit or super berry. For example, whole companies have been built around noni fruit, or goji juice, or mangosteen, or acai berry. Granted, each one of these are truly "super" fruits or berries, but one super fruit/berry can't possibly have all of the 1,000s of nutritive compounds that a person needs in their diet. Yes, it's a great fruit or berry, but it's not enough. It's just one good food element. What about the many others that we need? Some of these companies have realized this point, and they have recently added additional fruits and/or berries to their formulas for this very reason. Now, instead of having just one "super" fruit or berry, they added 3 or 5 or 9 more to give them a more balanced and rounded product. Good for them, but it's still not enough. Question: Would you prefer getting the nutritional health benefits of 15 or 30 fruits and berries, or benefit only from 5 or 9? How important to you is variety and diversity in your super juice?

4. Most liquid "super juices" offer their customers a daily serving size of only 2 fluid ounces. In other words, a bottle of their super juice is a month's supply, and the daily serving size is only 1 fluid ounce. In my opinion, that is a very very tiny serving size that can't possibly have very much nutritional value over the course of a whole day. Question: Wouldn't you prefer having a daily serving size of 6-8 fluid ounces of your super juice? Wouldn't you feel like you were getting more nutrition from 6-8 ounces versus 1 ounce?

5. Most liquid "super juices" have compromised on the quality of their ingredients. As you're doing your research on various products and companies, make sure that they use all natural live whole food ingredients that are certified organic and/or are free of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Also, make sure that they use NO PRESERVATIVES, NO FILLERS, NO EXCIPIENTS, NO ADDITIVES, NO DAIRY, NO GMO (genetically modified foods), NO PASTEURIZATION, and NO IRRADIATION. When it comes to your buying and consuming a super juice product, it's extremely important to make sure that you know what you're getting and where you're getting it from. You need to know what's in it and how it was processed. Ask lots of questions until you uncover the truth and the facts. Question: What's really in the product you're buying and drinking? Do you know all the ingredient and quality facts?

6. Some liquid "super juices" use processed sugars and/or artificial sweeteners that are unhealthy and cause all kinds of health problems. I was shocked to find that one very popular company puts high fructose corn syrup in their children's products. The only sweeteners that should be used in a super juice are raw honey, stevia, agave nectar, and naturally sweet fruit juices. Some of these companies actually put cheap "fillers" in their products in order to save money, resulting in the customer getting an inferior and less healthy product, so beware. Question: Are there artificial sweeteners and fillers in your super juice?

7. Most "super juices" only include fruits and/or berries, with very few if any vegetables and greens. Why is this? I don't know, but I can't see any reason for it. Question: Wouldn't you prefer getting fruits, berries, vegetables, and greens all mixed in your super juice for you and your children's nutritional health if it tasted good?

FOLLOW UP: In my next posting, I will be sharing with you more on this topic of dehydrated low-temperature dried super juice powders. I will share with you what I believe the BEST CHOICE is for you and your family. SO...keep checking back for my next posting.

Be Prepared - Emergency Disaster Preparedness Survival Kit Dehydrated Food Meal Pack MRE Supplies

ARE YOU PREPARED TO SURVIVE THE NEXT DISASTER?

I was a Boy Scout growing up, and I'll never forget our  MOTTO:

"BE PREPARED!"

When I think of all of the natural disasters and other disasters that have struck America in the last 10 years, I can't help wonder how many people's lives could have been saved - IF they had been prepared before disaster struck.

As a nation, the American people over the past 10 years have experienced terrorist attacks, hurricanes, floods, fires, tornados, earthquakes, civil unrest, martial law, and war. How many people have died in these disasters that could have been saved - IF they had been prepared?

The purpose of this blog site is to HELP PEOPLE GET PREPARED TO SURVIVE THE COMING DISASTERS that are only going to intensify over the next several years.

I WANT TO HELP YOU BE PREPARED TO SURVIVE what's coming next, and for you to be able to help others during the coming emergencies.

Let me ask you a few key questions:

1. Do you have enough food stored away for you and your family for 6 months?

2. Do you have long shelf-life dehydrated fruits and vegetables stored away as well?

3. Do you have enough natural spring water stored away for 6 weeks in safe containers and do you have a high-quality water purifying system that doesn't use electricity?

4. Do you have a way to heat water and to cook food that doesn't use electricity?

5. Do you have a survival kit that includes things like first aid kit, flashlight, batteries, extra warm clothes, sleeping bags and blankets, toilet paper, towels, toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, bug spray, hats, compass, radio, flares, matches, cups & plates & utensils, and anything else you would need to live outdoors with your family for three weeks?

These are just a few of the questions that I have that will get you thinking about how prepared you are for the coming emergencies and disasters. If you don't have these basic things stored away in your garage or basement, then you're really not prepared for what's coming.

Remember: the secret to surviving disasters is BEING PREPARED - beforehand, meaning NOW! Not next week, not next month, not next year, not when you have time, not when you think something bad is going to happen - but NOW.

Keep checking back with my postings as I will be providing you with more useful information and resources to help you get prepared now for the inevitable disasters on the horizon. You do not need to live in fear and anxiety - IF you're prepared to survive and overcome through whatever disasters strike next. BE PREPARED!
